Community & support
Nearly everyone names the same feeling after a diagnosis: isolation. The fastest antidote is other people who get it.
Peer groups
Structured groups give you a room full of people at the same stage, including tracks made for the newly diagnosed.
ADDA virtual support groupsPeer support
The adult-focused nonprofit runs virtual groups, including ones specifically for newly diagnosed adults, plus groups for women, students, and couples.

Try this
You don’t have to talk to belong. Lurking, reading, and showing up quietly all count. Share when you’re ready, not before.
A real human on the line
Online communities
Large, active communities where people share the real, unfiltered version. Helpful for solidarity, not a source of medical guidance.
Field note
Communities are for solidarity and lived experience, not diagnosis or medical advice. Take any health claim you find back to your clinician before acting on it.
Bring the people around you in
Support isn’t only something you receive. Sending a partner, parent, or close friend one good group or article often does more than explaining it yourself ten times.
